A short twist of rope fills the paper sheet, nearly extending over the paper edge. It is so tightly confined by the papers edge that it is a relief when it extends past the edge. The strand stops reading as a functional object because we can no longer conceive of being able to hold this particular piece of rope in our hands. So we try to see something else in them, something organic.
